Free Upgrade from Adobe Creative Suite 2 to Creative Suite 3
I recently found Adobe's Post Announcement Upgrade Policy which describes the procedure for getting a free upgrade to Creative Suite 3. It appears that customers who purchase Creative Suite 2.3 after March 27, 2007 are eligible for a free upgrade to Creative Suite 3 when it ships in April.I also found the Creative Suite Free Upgrade Chart (image to the right) at Studica's website.Adobe's web site states:
Customers who purchase an Adobe branded or Macromedia branded product during a limited time after Adobe announces a new product version are eligible for a free upgrade to the current version. To be eligible for a post-announce upgrade, you must meet the following requirements:
- This upgrade policy applies only to single-user Retail and Educational versions. Tryout, Beta, NFR, and OEM (bundled) versions are not eligible for upgrade.
- This offer is available only through Adobe directly.
- Your upgrade must be for the same platform, language, and edition as your previous version.
- You must provide Adobe Customer Service with proof of purchase.
- Adobe will notify qualified volume licensing customers of their eligibility for a post-announce upgrade.
- Post-announce upgrades for single-user licenses are normally available within two weeks of the new version's first shipment.
In North America, customers are required to call the Adobe Customer Service Center at 1-800-833-6687. Adobe will ship the products directly to the customer when products become available (shipping fees will apply)
