On September 24, 2010, Douglas Seidler led a beginner and an intermediate SketchUp workshop for the Interior Design faculty at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

Autodesk is continuing it popular software program that gives free software (3 year license) to students and faculty. Autodesk recently tweeted: "Students want to change the world. We want to help them do it. Free software for students on the Autodesk Edu Community"

The folks at SketchUp & Materialise just launched a new design competition. The design challenge is to use Google SketchUp 8 to design a working 3D printable lamp. Materialise will print and assemble lamps for 3 winner (complete with stand and lamp). 

The competition runs from September 3 through October 25th 2010.
